Ella Mae Hoda Flynn

Our beloved faithful matriarch of our family, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ella Mae Hoda Flynn, 91, of Biloxi, MS passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Flynn was born on August 10, 1931 in Kiln, MS. She was employed with the Keesler Air Force Base Exchange. Mrs. Flynn was a member of the Cursillo #63, St. Michael Altar Society, Elks, VFW, Business Professional Women’s Club, Jolly Travelers, Golden Age Club and the French Club. She enjoyed traveling, casinos, ceramics, Bingo, playing cards and people. Mrs. Flynn loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Flynn; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theophile Hoda; her grandchildren, Joseph McKinley Giles and Jesse A. Seymour, Jr.; six sisters; and two brothers.

Mrs. Flynn’s survivors include her children, Penny (Jesse) Seymour, Patsy (Owen) Trochesset and Pam (Wayne) Giles; her grandchildren, Missy (Curt) Parker, Shelly (Tommy) Dimitry, Taylor Trochesset, Tasha (Marshall) Eleuterius and Wayne Giles, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Jessica (Theo) Bacot, Jaden Parker, Kyle (Angela) Dimitry, Raven Dimitry, Marshall and Meredith Eleuterius, Taylor Trochesset, II and Beckett Giles; her great-great-grandchildren, Amelia, Eleanor, Liam, Oliver and Colbie (expected in March); and her sister, Evelyn Martin.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Saad Hospice Care, Molly Brown and staff and the second-floor nursing staff at Ocean Springs Hospital. Rest assured she is young again, shining in the face of our Lord.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in Mrs. Flynn’s memory to Loaves and Fishes of Biloxi, P.O. Box 233, Biloxi, MS 39533.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. A reception will immediately follow at St. Michael Parish Hall.
