Ella Lorraine "Lori" Stephenson

Ella Lorraine Stephenson, 78, of Biloxi, MS passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, surrounded by her family. She grew up in Waldorf, MD as “Lorraine” but was known as “Lori” most of her adult life. Lori lived in several states as a military spouse but settled in Biloxi in 1973 and that was her home.

Lori worked for Civil Service for 34 years – the majority of them at Keesler AFB.  She retired in 2008 and then 2 years later went back to work at the same job working for a contractor until her passing. She was a hard worker and took pride in doing her job very well. She won many awards and recognitions throughout her career. 

Lori was the most generous person that you could ever meet.  She loved her family and was very proud of each and every one of them.  She was always available for whatever they needed, wherever they may be, and at any time of the day or night.

She was preceded in death by her son, Wade Collinsgru, Jr.

Lori is survived by her daughter, Melody Dumas Sullivan (Andy) of Saucier; her son, Charles Collinsgru of Biloxi; 7 grandchildren, Erica Dumas, Jennifer Clement, Samantha Durcholz, Amanda Christiansen, Natalie Jones, Anna Collinsgru and Lucas Collinsgru; and 12 great-grandchildren.  Lori has a twin brother, Robert Wayne Hamilton of Waldorf, MD, and a very large extended family there.

A private memorial service will be held for the family.
