Elmyra T. Mitchell Huber

Mrs. Elmyra T. Mitchell Huber, age 89, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Wednesday, February 23, 2005, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Huber was a lifelong resident of the community. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Bay St. Louis. She was one of the first ladies who served as a juror in the state. Mrs. Huber worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding during WWII, later at Bell South and Keesler Air Force Base. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where she served in the Legion of Mary and the Altar Society. Mrs. Huber was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Huber, her parents, Roderick and Elmyra Mitchell, and a grandson, Rickey Ross. She is survived by a daughter, Elmyra T. Ross, and one grandson, First Lt. Troy Ross and wife, Lauren, all of Ocean Springs. Visitation will be on Friday, February 25, 2005, from 6-9 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, February 26, 2005, there will be a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where friends may call from 9-10 AM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
