Elsie Ruth Weems

Mrs. Elsie Ruth Weems, age 75, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Monday, August 30, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Weems was a housewife and of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mae McKinzie Hinton and Austal Evandar Hinton. Survivors include her husband, Maddison Weems, daughter, Susan Weems, both of Ocean Springs, MS., two sons, Gary (Alice) Weems of Ocean Springs and David Weems of D'Iberville, MS., three sisters, Patricia Hinton and Zelma Creel, both of Pearl, MS., and Irma Walley of Richton, MS., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, September 3, 2010, from 6 pm until 8 pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, September 4, 2010, there will be an 11 am chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow at 2 pm in the New Augusta Cemetery in New Augusta, MS. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS., 39507.
