Elsie Thomas Stayer

Mrs. Elsie Thomas Stayer, age 76, of Irvington, KY, went to her heavenly reward on Monday, June 13, 2011. Mrs. Stayer was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs prior to moving to Irvington seven years ago. She was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict. She dedicated her life to serving her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sadie, two sisters, Janet and Judy and her husband, Cal Sr., brother James and a niece Robin. Survivors include her husband, Ed Stayer, three daughters, Lois (Rudy Sr.) Portales, Pam (David Sr.) Kubczak and Kathye (Mike) Beaugez, two sons, James (Klaudia) Thomas, Jr. and John Thomas, former husband, James Thomas, Sr., a sister, Delores (Harry Sr.) Fisher, two brothers, Ronnie (Trudy) Kimmell and Kenny Kimmell, ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, June 17, 2011, from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. with a 12:30 pm Memorial Service, officiated by her son-in-law, Deacon David M. Kubczak, Sr., all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
