Elsie Erhard Tierce, age 77, of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Elsie was born on January 7, 1947 in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of Mississippi City. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was previously active in Girl Scouts as well as a neighborhood chairman. Elsie was a national registered EMT for 30 years. She worked for Mobil Medic and AMR. She was also employed as security/EMT for the Grand Casinos in Biloxi and Gulfport. She received a Medal of Valor following the Biloxi Jail fire.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Val and Bertha Erhard; brother, Bobby Erhard; and son Eric “Rick” Carroll.
Survivors include her daughters Michelle “Missy” Carroll (William Hogg) and Christian “Christy” Richardson (Bill); sister, Susie Towater (Charlie). Elsie was the beloved grandmother of Joey Carroll, Jessica Carroll, and Elizabeth Richardson; great-grandmother of Eric Hudson Owen; and special grandmother to Tyler Bachtel, Nicholas Bachtel, and Madison Bachtel. She is also survived by other extended family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Tierce family.
