Elvin L. Propps, 72, of Gulfport passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport, of heart failure. Elvin was born Feb. 9, 1933 in Newton, MO to Donald Dean Propps and Cora Elizabeth (Bailey) Propps.
He served his country during the Korean War as a boiler tender in the U. S. Navy. After his discharge, he went to work for Frisco Railroad and retired as a Conductor in 1992.
His father preceded him in death. Survivors include his mother, Cora and brother, Lee of Gulfport; 2 daughters, Diana and Denese; 2 sons, Dean and Dale; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren, all of Springfield, MO; 2 aunts, Maggie Earles and Mary Pierce of Missouri; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, 2005 from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St., Gulfport. A procession will leave the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. going to Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi for a graveside service at 3:00 p.m.
