Emma Jane Anders Rousseau, a life-long resident of Biloxi, Miss., died in Houston, Texas, where she moved after Hurricane Katrina.
Emma Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Emile A. Rousseau, Sr.; her mother, Clara Anders and her father, Benton B. Anders; her sisters, Ruby Anders, Louise Jewel and Jo Lyn De Silvey; her brother, B. Pete Anders and her daughter-in-law, Kaye Rousseau.
Emma Jane is survived by her children, Emile A. Rousseau, Jr. and his wife, Pattie, Emily Ryals and her husband, Rex, Elise Annette Brewer and her husband, Mitchell and E. Alan Rousseau and his wife, Wanda; her grandchildren, David Ross and his wife, Janet, Jana Smith and her husband, Kevin, Stacey Camejo and her husband, Richard, Charlie Ross and his wife, Jessica, Rochelle Jessel and her husband, Brock, Sarah Rousseau and Conner Rousseau. She has 5 great-grandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth Barnhill and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emma Jane was a devoted mother and housewife. In her early years she worked for the telephone company in Biloxi. When she and Emile Sr. married in 1946, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Biloxi. Emma Jane served as a member of the Biloxi School Board from 1975-1980 and was elected to serve as the secretary of that board. She loved her family, enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, and her grandchildren were her delight.
Visitation will be at the Bradford O'Keefe on Friday, December 8, 2006 and services will be held at Bradford O'Keefe Saturday, December 8, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Smith leading the service. Burial will be at the Biloxi Veterans Cemetery.
