Erica Leigh Childress

Miss Erica Leigh Childress, our 20 year old angel, went to heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, December 24, 2007. As soon as Erica would walk into a room her smile would light up and would easily become contagious. You can barely think about her without almost hearing her laughter and seeing that sparkle in her eye. She loved life as much as she could in her short 20 years, but more than most do in their lifetime. Erica would never meet a stranger. In fact, she loved meeting new people. Her friendships knew no boundaries of territory, race or sex. If you were her friend, you were her friend forever. You knew that you could count on her and visa versa. Erica was a 2006 graduate of D'Iberville High School. Preceding Erica in death and waiting for her in heaven are her paternal grandfather, Johnny Childress, paternal grandmother, Earline Childress, and one very special family friend, Angie Evans. Erica will be sadly missed by her survivng family members, parents, Danny and Leisa Childress, sister, Brandi Childress, all of Biloxi, MS., maternal grandparents, Sherman and Mildred Thomas of Wiggins, MS., paternal great-grandmother, Nellie Hukill of D'Iberville, MS., Uncle Charlie and Aunt Tammy Thomas of Clarksdale, MS., Uncle DeWayne Mitchell of Vancleave, MS., Uncle David and Aunt Lori Thomas of Perkinston, MS., Uncle Edward Thomas of Wiggins, MS., and cousins, Jennifer Thomas, Jennifer Yancy and Jeffrey Thomas. Erica will also be greatly missed by all of her other family and friends. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 29, 2007, from 2-4 PM, with a 4 PM Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this horrible ordeal.
