Ernest Hankins, Jr.

Ernest "Buddy" Hankins, Jr., age 57, of Long Beach, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Long Beach. He was retired from Mississippi Power Company and was a member of the local IBEW chapter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Edna Wescovich Hankins, Sr. Mr. Hankins is survived by his wife, Connie Holland Hankins of Long Beach; a daughter, Amanda Lynn Hankins of Gulfport; a son, Chris Hankins (Amy) and granddaughter, Emma Grace Hankins of Brandon; a sister, Phyllis H. McMurphy (Donald) of Perkinston; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike Massey (Patty) of Gulfport and Terry Cannette (Claire) of Biloxi. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
