Ernest Lee Dean

Ernest Lee Dean passed away on February 27,2008 after a lifetime filled with laughter, challenges and more laughter. Ernest was born May 14,1942 in Sharon, CT. He was the youngest of five sons to the late Marjorie and Martin Dean. He grew up in Millerton, NY and served in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany from 1960 - 1963. In 1964 he married and started a family wth Janet Macy of Amenia. He was emloyed as a sales representative at Service Liquor for many years. His family and northern friends knew him as Ernie and his southern friends knew him as Lee. Dad had an inseperable love, to travel meeting and befriending welcoming faces and different characters along the way. Over the years he started and ran A World of Flags and traveled a well beaten path between Galveston, Texas and Key West, FL calling on customers, selling flags and banners and making friends and enjoying life around the Gulf Coast. He made Biloxi, MS his home base. Blessed with the abilty to see the positive side of life, Dad pesonally kept those around him a little more light hearted than they would have been without him. Ernie was preceded in death by his brother, Marty who died in action in the Korean War and his brother, Dave. Ernie's spirit will live on in his family: daughters, Lisa Dean, Holly Driscol, grandchildren, Kaila Lea Karabinos, Robert Dean Driscoll, brothers, Tom and Danny and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service and graveside service will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. We would like to thank all of the staff of the Veterans Medical Center of Biloxi, for their outpouring of care, help and support.
