Ernest Powell

Ernest E. "Gene" Powell, 74, of Latimer, MS died Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in Biloxi, MS. Mr. Powell was a native of Lakeshore, MS, but has been a coast resident for all of his life. He retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve with over 20 years of service. He was employed with Morgan Construction Co. for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed shrimping. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his daughter, Denice Gail Powell-Stringham, parents, Wilson and Mary Powell,brothers, Wilson and Norman Powell. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Connie Powell, daughter, Sandra P. Holt and husband Randy of Janesville, WI, two grandchildren, Clifford Eugene Holt, of Ft. Meyers, FL and Jaime Dawn Holt, of Janesville, WI., four sisters, Elizabeth Seaver of Kansas, Clara Stringer of D'Iberville, Nora Migues of Gulfport, and Nancy Powell of D'Iberville, a brother, Manuel Powell of Vancleave. Visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2005 from 6 to 9 at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home at 675 Howard Ave., Biloxi. Service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
