Mrs. Eron P. Thigpen, "Maw Maw" passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the young age of 86. Mrs. Thigpen was born in Bay Springs, MS on February 18, 1923, however she moved to Biloxi, MS in 1954. Mrs. Thigpen retired from the Biloxi Public School System in 1984 after 18 years of service. She worked as the Cafeteria Manager for many of the area schools. Mrs. Thigpen is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Onyx Wilson Thigpen; her beloved son, William Stanley Thigpen; father, Otha Lee Pittman, Sr. and mother, Mary Ethel Pittman; twin brother, Elon "Bill" Pittman; brothers, Otha Lee "Buddy" Pittman, Jr., Jack Pittman; sisters, Lolean Cook and Annie Dovis Moss. Mrs. Thigpen is survived by sisters, Peggy Stevenson and Bernice Parker both of Bay Springs, MS; five daughters, Nat (Douglas) Hebert of Woolmarket, MS, Jeannie (Gene) Doser of Oklahoma City, OK, Cindy (Billy) Saxton of Gulfport, MS, Dorothy (Terry) King of Biloxi, MS and Connie (Ted) Marodis also of Biloxi, MS; as well as twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Our mother will be dearly missed and loved by all. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Camellia Home Health & ICU Staff and employees of Biloxi Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, West Biloxi. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time.
