Ervin Earl McMillan

Mr. Ervin Earl McMillan, 73, of Vancleave, MS, died Thursday, October 7, 2010, in Jackson, MS. Mr. McMillan was a native and lifelong resident of Vancleave. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church and a retired welder from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was an avid fisherman, woodworker and gardener. Mr. McMillan was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Earl McMillan; parents, Walter and Marie McMillan; five brothers, Robert "Curtis" McMillan, Cecil McMillan, James "J.W." McMillan, Donald McMillan, and Woody McMillan; son-in-law, Marty Hebert; and a granddaughter, Courtney Doswell. He is survived by his wife, of 51 years, Dale McMillan; four daughters, Sandy McMillan (Peter Davis), Sharon Hebert, Sheila (Randall) Stevens, and Stacey Myers (David Warbritton); his sister, Maggie Kucifer; four brothers, Larry McMillan, Homer McMillan, Guy McMillan and Otis McMillan; his mother-in-law, Lucy Harris; daughter-in-law, Julie McMillan; ten grandchildren, Kristy, Brandon, Aaron, Jacob, Susannah, Samatha, Ryan, Jonathan, Jeffrey, and Chloe; and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Hope House of Hospitality in Jackson, MS or to the Community of Christ Church in Vancleave. Funeral services will be 12 noon Monday, October 11, 2010, at the Community of Christ Church in Vancleave where friends may visiit from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Vancleave is in charge of arrangements.
