Mrs. Ethel Rouse Craig, 77, of Gulfport, MS was called home to be with our Father in Heaven on Friday, February 4, 2005.
Born October 1, 1927, to the late Mr. Walter David Rouse and Mrs. Eugenia Murray Rouse of Warsaw, NC and cared for by her step-mother, Sallie Wilkins Rouse. Mrs. Craig was a member of Mississippi City United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, painting and working with crafts. Mrs. Craig was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in caring for others.
Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James (Boots) S. Craig, Jr.; six brothers, Mr. Joseph Rouse, Mr. David Rouse, Mr. Felton Rouse, Mr. Rodrek Rouse, Mr. Dalton Lane Rouse and Mr. Walter Rouse and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Rouse Floyd.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Haley and husband, Don, of Gulfport and Ms. Denise Nec! aise of Slidell; six grandchildren, Ms. Pamela Pifer, her fiancee, Malcolm Simmons, and her children, Hailey and Jacob of Gulfport; Mrs. Shelley Holland, husband, Wayne, and sons, Gage and Conner of Gulfport; Mrs. Cynthia Gillespie, husband Wesley, and son, Chandler, of Saucier; Mrs. Kristina Hoda, husband Brandon, and daughter, Hannah, of Saucier; Mr. James Adam and Mr. Brandon Necaise both of Gulfport; one sister, Mrs. Helen Rouse Hunter and husband, Robert, of Tewksbury, MA and two sisters-in-law, Ms. Mattie Burke of Biloxi and Mrs. Lucy Rouse of Warsaw, NC.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
