Ethel Sonnier Tirrell

Ethel Sonnier Tirrell, age 88 of Gulfport died Monday, December 14, 2015 in Gulfport. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society and choir. She was preceded in death by a son, David Tirrell; siblings, Danny Sonnier, Julius Sonnier, Harold Sonnier, and Sylvia Diaz; and her parents, Oleus and Dela Sonnier. Mrs. Tirrell is survived by her husband of 68 years, Howard Tirrell; her eight children, Terry Tirrell(Lynn), Cathy Pickle (Buddy), Susie Kuehling (Kevin), Sheila Tirrell, Shirley Schwyhart (Del), Jenny Grooms (Russell), Tom Tirrell, Debbie Brister (Walt); seven siblings, Carroll Sonnier, Esther Marsh, Nellie Williams, George Sonnier, John Sonnier, Mary Brochard, Alice Goff; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Gulfport where friends may call beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi.
