Ethel Jean Vance, age 82, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.
Ms. Vance, (Grandma or Cookie), born in Bismarck, ND, was a long time resident of Ocean Springs. She was a seamstress at Singer and at 50, she received her Associates Degree in Nursing form MGCCC and later retired as a Registered Nurse. She was a long time volunteer for The Lord is My Help Kitchen and an avid reader. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.
Ms. Vance is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Ruth Coffing; her loving and well missed husband of 47 years, Tommy Lee Vance, Sr.; and three daughters, Ruth Ann (Robert) McCoun, Charlotte Jean (Ronnie) Riley, Linda Lee Marie (Thomas) Farris; one daughter in law, Sharon Vance; and two granddaughters, Tammy Tharp and Maudie Riley.
Survivors include her sister Patricia Ann Butler; brother, Lloyd Foster Coffing; daughter, Virginia Lynn (Kerry) Brink; two sons, David Lloyd (Maureen) Vance and Tommy Lee (Sharon dec.) Vance, Jr.; and a granddaughter she raised Barbara Michelle McCoun; sister-in-law, Marie Guerard; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Hwy 90, Ocean Springs on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., family and friends may visit up to one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Hwy 90, Ocean Springs.
