Etna Rosa Crowell

Etna Rosa Crowell, age 92, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. 

She was born on November 1, 1931, in Panama to Torribio José de Lora Puche and Rosalina Albarracín de Lora. She attended Balboa High School and received the Penmanship Award. Etna was a devoted United States Air Force wife, serving in both foreign and domestic assignments. She also worked as a wrapper at Gayfers.  Her passions included ceramics, painting, gardening, sewing, and her love for Bingo, earned her the name, Bingo Queen. She was known for having a knack for languages and being fluent in Spanish, English, and French. Her most important accomplishment was being a mother to six children, and grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Etna is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Robert C. Crowell, Sr.; sisters, Mercedes Johnson and Irma Jaquish; and by her brothers, Gregorio de Lora and Shubert de Lora. 

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert C. Crowell, Jr., William A. Crowell, Jennifer C. Gonzalez, Joyce M. Morgan, Katherine D. Maxted, and Blake E. Crowell; grandchildren, Sarah J. Liberato, Ronya I. Von Chong, Francesca M. Wilson, Christopher Sean Crowell, Constantino A. Gonzalez, Cassandra D. Farve, Amber D. Walston, Adam J. Hannold and Cameron Poulos; and by her sister, Flor James. 

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Friends may visit one hour prior. 

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Biloxi National Cemetery—reception will follow at Our Lady of Fatima- Parish Hall at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited.
