Eugene "Gene" Neely

Mr. Gene Neely, age 82, of Ocean Springs, MS., died on Monday, April 27, 2009, in Long Beach, MS. Mr. Neely was a native of Livingston, Montana, and a longtime resident of the coast. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy, a member of the American Legion, and was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a System Analyst. He was also a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Neely and a brother, Don Neely. Survivors include four daughters, Deborah (Dennis) Dalton, Donielle (Alex) Steubing, Mamie (Tim) Carlson and Julia (Rodney) Nelson, and five grandchildren, Joseph Dalton, Cody Queen, Ally Carlson, Timmy Carlson and Alex Steubing. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 30, 2009, from 12 Noon until 2 PM, with a 2 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
