Eugene McCormack Morgan

Eugene McCormack Morgan, 80, of D'Iberville, MS passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Biloxi, MS. He was born December 15, 1937 in Drew, MS to Robert and Laura McCormack. He retired from the United States Air Force on July 1, 1976, during which he received numerous commendation medals and other service related awards. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6731 and a former charter member of the American Legion Post 2002. He worked for the Harrison County School District for a total of 24 years as a bus driver and a Teacher's Assistant at D'Iberville Elementary School, where he received the Bus Driver of the Year Award from 1989-1990 and DES Yearbook Dedication 1999-2000. He was a longtime volunteer for the VA Recreational and VET Center in Biloxi, MS. He enjoyed life by bowling and playing darts, spending time with his family, and completing crossword puzzles. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents and adopted father, Wilfred Morgan and his brother, Robert McCormack. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Coker Morgan; his children, Douglas Morgan of D'Iberville, MS, Renee (Mike) Hannah of Navarre, FL, Darrell Morgan of Havelock, NC, Tracy (Candy) Morgan of D'Iberville, MS, Terry (Alison) Morgan of Saucier, MS, and Timmy (Dawn Bertucci) Morgan of D'Iberville, MS; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in his name. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
