Eugenia "Genie" Hutchisson Peters

Eugenia “Genie” Hutchisson Peters, 81, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Ocean Springs. Genie was born in Mobile, AL on April 16, 1932 to Ross Elkins and Lillian Ruth Hutchisson. She taught school in Mobile, AL, in Lafayette, LA at the Saints Leo-Seton Catholic School and was a very beloved teacher at St. Alphonsus Catholic School for over twenty years. Genie made a profound difference in the lives of children for over thirty years. Genie is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ann Billie Strahan and Barbara Elaine Hutchisson. Her survivors include her husband of 62 years, Billy L. Peters; her children, Melanie Peters, Mike (Carmen) Peters and Mitch (Katie) Peters; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Ross Hutchisson, Jr. ; and her sister, Jackie Bozeman. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
