Mrs. Eva Mae Morrison, age 78, of D'Iberville, MS, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013, in D'Iberville.
Mrs. Morrison was a native of Dauphin Island, Alabama, and a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1970. She was known for her gumbo, a hot pot of coffee and her comic relief. Eva was involved in many civic activities by volunteering, catering events and serving as a leader. She was a very loving, caring and involved mother, grandmother and aunt. Mrs. Morrison was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter #528 and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Alex "Odie" Morrison, parents, Peter and Victoria Collier Sprinkle, her aunt and uncle, Julius and Eva Patronas, who raised her, sisters, Orienta Nelson, Alicia Richman, Mabel Boone and brothers, Peter Sprinkle, Ole Patronas, Quentin Patronas, and Jason Patronas.
Survivors include a brother, J.J. Patronas of Irvington, AL, three daughters, Andrea Feeney of Gulfport, Sandra Morrison and Chrissy Morrison, both of D'Iberville, a son, Peter Alex (Pam) Morrison of the White Plains Community, and grandchildren, Audrey, Alicia, Allison, Forrest II, Olivia, Amy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 7, 2013, from 6pm until 8pm, at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, there will be a 12 noon chapel service in the funeral home, where friends may visit from 11am until service time. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the Gulf Coast Women's Center for Nonviolence, P.O. Box 333, Biloxi, MS 39533 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Chapter #196, Charmant Place, Suite 4, Richland, MS, 39157.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Diane Jones, moms' caretaker provided by PRN and Gentiva Hospice.
