Evangeline Elrod

Evangeline Elrod, 63, of Gulfport died Friday, April 6, 2007 in Gulfport. Mrs. Elrod was a native of Florida and long time resident of Gulfport. She was a member of Campground Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Elrod loved working with flowers and working in her yard. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she met. She loved her grandchildren and they will really miss "Granny". Mrs. Elrod was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years - Lloyd Elrod, her parents - John and Vassie King, a sister - Shirley King, and two brothers - Ronnie King and Danny King. Survivors include two daughters - Anita Carter and her husband, Don, and Angie Turner and her husband, Gary, all of Gulfport, three sons - John Elrod and his wife, Beth of Saucier, Brandon Elrod and James Elrod both of Gulfport, a sister - Sybil Jenkins of Alabama, two brothers - Bob King and Jim King both of Florida, a brother-in-law - Cordell Elrod of Tennessee, two sisters-in-law - Vallie Stevens of Tennessee and Reba Elrod of Georgia and six grandchildren. The children would like to thank the staff at Select Speciality and Dr. Maalouf for the loving care they gave their mother. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at BRADFORD-O'KEEFE FUNERAL HOME, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. A graveside service will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
