Evelyn "Voncile" Kendrick

Evelyn “Voncile” Kendrick, 77 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021. She was born in Columbia, MS on September 12, 1944. Voncile was always the mom, maw-maw, and friend you knew was only ever a phone call away if you needed anything; never judging you but loving you with her whole heart. She was funny but quick to tell you if she did not agree with you. Voncile will be missed more than words can say, but we are celebrating that she is in the arms of Jesus, where she longed to be. Philippians 3:20-21 Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Obie and Mildred Clark; brothers, Wilford Clark, Earl Clark, and William Harry Clark; and brothers-in-law, Bobby R. Smith, and Clifford Kendrick. Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband of fifty-eight years, Earnest “Crawford” Kendrick; son, Roger (Jennifer) Kendrick; daughter, Melissa (Kent) Lassiter; three grandchildren, Sarah Broussard, Cody Pate, and Emilee Heinrich; brother, David (Jan) Clark; sister, Nelda Smith; sisters-in-law, Bettye Clark and Barbara Kendrick; and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her honor to The Home of Grace, 14200 Jericho Rd., Vancleave, MS 39565. A service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Vancleave #1 Cemetery.
