Evelyn Russ Ward

Evelyn Russ Ward, age 79, of Long Beach, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in Gulfport. Mrs. Ward was born in Napoleon, MS and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Long Beach where she was a Sunday School Teacher and former president of the Women of the Church. She was a past Matron of the Eastern Star Long Beach Chapter. Mrs. Ward was employed with South Mississippi Regional Center in Long Beach and her hobby was catering for weddings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. Russ, Jr. and Ollie Murphy Russ; a sister, Nancy Lorraine Russ; and a grandson, Aaron Wade Sharp. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Wendell Lewis Ward of Long beach; a daughter, Lynn Ward Fischman of Long Beach; two sons, Ted Ward and Ken Ward both of Long Beach; a sister, Sally Boulay of Long Beach; two brothers, Charles A. Russ, III of Pearlington and Jimmy G. Russ of Birmingham. AL; four grandchildren, Blake Ward, Jeffrey Ward, Randall Sharp and Mason Sharp; and two great-grandchildren, Conner Ward and Aidan Ward. Visitation was held Friday evening from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. The funeral service is Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Napoleon Cemetery in Hancock County.
