Everett Lamar Scarborough, age 93, of Biloxi, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014.
Mr. Scarborough retired from Keesler Air Force Base. He served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Infantry Medal. He was a member of White Plains United Methodist Church and served in almost every lay office at least once. Mr. Scarborough was an avid sports fan and collector, especially basketball. He was known as “Mr. Basketball” amongst sport card collectors. He also enjoyed dove hunting and had a green thumb for growing tomatoes.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Scarborough and son, Patrick Scarborough.
Survivors include his daughter, Janie Scarborough; son, Mike Scarborough; and sister, Lois Parker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Service will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at White Plains United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at White Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery.
