Everette LaFaun Waits, Sr.

Everette LaFaun Waits, Sr., of Long Beach, beloved husband, devoted father, left this frail existence and laid this mortal by, and returned to the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father on June 28, 2010. He was 76. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, on September 10, 1933, Mr. Waits was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Upon graduating d'Iberville High School in 1953, he served for two years in the United States Army. Afterward he worked and attended USM in Hattiesburg, and the University of Alabama Birmingham anesthesia program, graduating from there in 1969. He retired as a CRNA from the Biloxi VA in 1994. He loved his family above all and was blessed with great friendships throughout his life. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Preceeded in death by his parents, David Waits and Mervis LaGrant, as well as brothers Bucky and Donald Waits. Mr. Waits is survived by his high school sweetheart-wife of 56 years, Beverly Jane Fayard Waits, of Long Beach. Other survivors include a daughter, Darlene Waits of Pass Christian; three sons, Everette (Bucky) Waits, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, David Waits of Long Beach and Adam Waits of Gulfport; a sister, Glennon Pierce of Indiana; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Waits' visitation will be July 2, 2010, at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi, from 5-8 p.m. His services will be July 3, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Klein Road in Orange Grove, at 1:00 p.m. Final viewing will be one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
