Evie Lou Barnett, age 89, of Biloxi, MS passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007.
Mrs. Barnett was a native of the Bond community in Neshoba County. She was a long time resident of Biloxi and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Biloxi and a member of the Ann Grayson Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Biloxi.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by her husband of 66 years, James H. Barnett of Biloxi, her son Larry Barnett and his wife Mary Lyn of Gulfport, granddaughter Meredith Chase and her husband Peter of Gulfport, granddaughter Laura Barnett of Gulfport, grandson Steven Barnett of Gulfport, great-granddaughter Audrey Chase of Gulfport; her sisters Pearl White of Carthage, MS, Marie Nichols and her husband, Rev. Caley R. of Vicksburg, MS and Ann Metz of Louisville, MS; her brothers Everett Nance and his wife, Nannie Laura of Knoxville, TN and Jack Jackson of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Barnett; her parents Jess and Malinda Nance; step-mother, Myrtle Nance; her brothers J.D. Nance, Eddie J. Nance, Percy Nance, Charlie Nance and Henry C. Nance; her step-sister Janie Calloway Talley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 5:30 till 8:30 PM at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 10:30 AM. in the funeral home chapel Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.
