Mr. Felix L. "Chef Felix" Farrington, Jr., 53, of Biloxi, MS, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, in Biloxi.
Mr. Farrington was a native of New Orleans, LA, but considered Biloxi his home. He was an award winning chef and member of the American Culinary Federation and the World Association of Cooks Societies. Chef Felix participated in many competions in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and placed one of his gold medals in the time capsule at the Town Green in Biloxi. He was awarded Chef of the Coast in 2002 and he was the Poster Boy on the 2001 "Chefs of the Coast". Mr. Farrington had been employed with the Casino Magic and The Great Southern Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Felix Farrington, Sr. Survivors include his wife of six years, Jill Rouse Zacharias Farrington, of Biloxi; three daughters, Felisha Farrington and Brandy Grazier, both of Louisiana and Julie Cook of Gulfport; two sons, Phil Guilliott and his wife, Carrie, of Kalamazoo, MI and Joshua Farrington of New York; one brother, Brian Farrington of New Orleans, LA, and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mr. Farrington's name to Keesler Federal Credit Union, 10521 Auto Mall Parkway, D'Iberville, MS 39540, to help cover funeral expenses.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
