Fern Dowdy

Fern Dowdy, age 61, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Fern was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She loved Barq's Root Beer, shrimp po-boys, and Mardi Gras, but her greatest devotion was to her family. Fern is preceded in death by her parents, Alba and Gela Ryan; and her brother, Henry Ryan. Fern's survivors include her daughter, Crystal (Garland) Smith; her two sons, David (Monica) Martin and Brandon (Jenifer Rouse) Dowdy; her sister, Emily Brummett; her two brothers, Gary (Zoe) Ryan and Peter (Gina) Ryan; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. service to follow.
