Fletcher "Keyes" Davis, Sr., 73, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 from Congestive Heart failure. He was born in Lumberton, MS on March 4, 1937. He spent most of his life on the MS Gulf Coast until 2000 when he moved to Wiggins, MS. Mr. Davis worked at Borden's Milk Co. for more then 20 years. He embarked on a new career building ships for Toche's. After that he worked as a porter at OS Hospital then as a grounds keeper at Hidden Oaks Apartments. Mr. Davis was a member of the Golden Age Club and the East End Jolly Travelers. He was a member of the House of Prayer Tabernacle for many years and in his later life attended Word Alive Revival Church of Wiggins. After the passing of his wife of 48 years, he became a member of the Ferris O'Neal Senior Citizen Center where he was honored as Senior of the Month.
Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his wife, Esther; daughter, Marie; mother, Bertha Davis; sister, Jean Love; niece, Gloria McKinney.
He is survived by his children, Glen Davis, Fletcher (Penny) Davis, Jr., Bertha "Bea" (Roger) Jarrell, Marian Bradley, Ira (Meagan) Davis; grandchildren, Justin, Sabrina, Katty, Matthew, Chase (Michelle), Kianna, Isaiah, Ayden, Rocki (Matthew), Cherie, James; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Zeppelin, Melody, Draco, Capri.
Visitation is on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services are on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi. Interment will follow in House of Prayer Tabernacle Cemetery.
