Florence Jean Williams, 85, died on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 in Bay St. Louis, MS, at Dunbar Village Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th at 9:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Gulfport. A funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 AM. Internment at Floral Hills Cemetery to follow services.
Jean was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 3rd, 1930, and received her Sacraments at St. Cyprian Catholic Church. She was the only child of Stanley and Margaret Marcinkowski, who preceded her in death. In 1951, Jean graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and became a registered nurse.
In 1961, she graduated from the US Air Force Reserve, and was commissioned as a flight nurse and attained the rank of captain. Jean also worked for the VA Hospitals in Houston, Biloxi, and Gulfport as a nurse for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam George Williams, II, of Prentiss, MS. They had two sons together, Adam G. Williams, III of Gulfport, MS, and Stanley L. Williams of Fort Worth, TX.
Jean was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church for almost 45 years, and was a member of the church's choir and altar society. She was a loving mother and friend to all, and will be dearly missed.
