Floyd Harry “Bud” Beaugez, 82, received his wings as Heaven opened up its pearly gates for a new angel on Monday, August 13, 2007. Waiting at the gates with a long awaited kiss was his first wife, Annetta, parents Mose and Esther, sister Patricia and brother, Francis. Floyd was born on July 4, 1925 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and was a resident of Gulfport for the last 56 years. Floyd, a WWII veteran, proudly and courageously served his country and survived the first wave on Iwo Jima with the U S Marine Corp, 5th Amphibian Tractor Battalion. He was a retired civil servant from both the Keesler AFB Hospital and as Electrical Inspector for Harrison County. Floyd is survived by his present wife, Elizabeth LeGendre Beaugez, his two sons, Robert “Randy” Beaugez and his wife Claudette of Gulfport, Harry Noel Beaugez and his wife Cristina of Navarre, FL, daughter, Jan Beaugez Carr and her husband, Tom, of Baku, Azerbaijan and stepson Armant LeGendre and family of Boulder, CO. Floyd’s greatest joy was his grandsons, Tyler, Trevor and Harry Beaugez and granddaughters, Taylor Beaugez and Jillian Carr. Floyd knew no strangers and those who met him enjoyed his sense of humor and mischievous smile. The family extends special thanks to Robbie, Matt and Theresa and all of those who cared for him and whose lives touched his as his did theirs. He will definitely be remembered. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 17, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Gulfport where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi. Pallbearers will include an honorary pallbearer, Charlie Noel. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2600 23rd Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
