Frances Herrington Broussard passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3, 2022.
Frances was born on May 1, 1933 in Meridian, MS. It was there that she met her husband, Herbert Broussard. The newlyweds moved to Biloxi and never left. She was a stay at home housewife at first and then went to work at D’Iberville High School. She left there and worked at Howard Memorial Hospital and then Biloxi Hardware Marine Supply where she worked until Hurricane Katrina wiped it out.
Frances loved to travel and cruise. She made a trip to Saltillo, Mexico and found her true passion. Frances made over twenty trips to Saltillo. After the death of her son, Michael, she sponsored a church in his memory that was dedicated as San Miguel and fostered a child that was also named for him.
“Mimi”, as she was known to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their friends, was beloved by all. Weekend sleepovers at her house made for many treasured memories. She was the ultimate story-teller, trick or treat partner, baker, candy maker and game player!
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Broussard, her son Michael Broussard, her son Jeffrey Broussard and her daughter-in-law, Becky Broussard. One can only imagine that joyous reunion.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (George) Pelaez, her grandchildren, Kimberly (Patrick) Lyons, Kacie (AJ) Denny, Jordy (Kimberly) Pelaez and Dustin Broussard and great grandchildren, Donovan Briscoe, Collins Denny, Lexi Lyons, Luke Lyons, Caroline Pelaez and George Pelaez IV. She is also survived by her sister Freida Thompson and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Greenbriar Nursing Center for their loving and devoted care.
