Frances Mary Labetich Cavalier, 86, of Biloxi, MS passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in Biloxi.
Frances was an only child born to John and Dina Labetich. She spent her earlier life with her parents in Oakland, CA and moved with her mother to Biloxi in 1944. Frances received her Catholic education at St. Michael’s Elementary School and Sacred Heart Academy. She worked at Gulf Central Seafood, the Buena Vista Hotel, the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce, the Beach Bowl, Pitalo’s Hardware and retired from Nursing Management, Inc.
She was a member of the Slavonian Ladies Auxiliary and St. Michael and Our Lady of Fatima Parishes where she actively participated in the Bereavement Committee. Frances was honored by His Holiness Benedict, XVI in 2008 with an Apostolic Blessing.
Until her death, Frances was a resident of Lagniappe Apartments in Biloxi, MS. Her favorite pastimes were arts and crafts and fun times at her favorite casinos.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Cavalier, Jr.; her mother and stepfather, Dina and Peter Kuljis; her father, John Joseph Labetich; her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Catherine Mladinich; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Frances Labetich; her father-in-law, Gus Cavalier, Sr.; her mother-in-law, Inez Cavalier Conovich; her brother-in-law, Elwood Anthony Cavalier; and faithful friends, Apollo, Atlas, Barbie, Ken, Tigger, Midge, Jane, Dick and Jasmine.
Frances’ survivors include her sons, Daniel John (Hyun Devine) Cavalier of Jacksonville, FL and Joel Craig (Melissa Holder) Cavalier; her grandchildren, Grant Edward (Maria Alejandra Carrizo) Cavalier of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Shelby Danielle Cavalier of Aurora, CO and their mother, Chris, Jesse Kittrell and Michael (Kristina) Graham of Biloxi, MS; and her great-grandchildren, Thomas and Magira.
Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery next to her husband Gus Cavalier.
