Frances Courtney Rutland

Frances Courtney Rutland, age 91, of Gulfport passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Bay St. Louis.

Frances was born in Mount Olive, MS on August 4, 1932. She was a lifelong resident of MS. Frances was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport and Victory Baptist Church of Bassfield. She was a teacher’s aide for 15 years in the Gulfport school system. She enjoyed cooking, Christian music and bird watching.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Rutland; son, Gary Rutland; daughter, Deborah Rutland; grandson, Ehron Rachuba; sisters, Mary Florence Williams and Victoria Tyrone; and brother, Jack Courtney.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Keith) Rachuba of Long Beach.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church in Bassfield followed by a graveside service at Double Church Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Rutland family.
