Frances Victoria Kuluz Mattina

Mrs. Frances Kuluz Mattina, 83, of Biloxi, MS, passed away in Gulfport Memorial Hospital Friday, February 10, 2006. Mrs. Mattina was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She was employed with the City of Biloxi Water Department for 20 years, retiring to a lifestyle of taking care of her home and family. She took pride in keeping her home beautiful and loved working in her yard planting flowers. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and contributed to many religions and charitable organizations. Those who knew her loved and respected her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dalton James Mattina; her parents, Anthony Tony and Annie Mazara Kuluz; grandparents, Lucas and Annie Mazara; sister, Dorothy Kuluz and brothers, Anthony and Matthew Kuluz. Survivors include her three sons, Anthony and his wife, Pat, Nick Mattina, Sr. and Glenn Mattina, Sr. She had eleven grandchildren, Anthony, II, Mark, Delene, Alicia, Nick "Jody", Dean, Nickol, Ashley, Glenn, Jr., Johnny and Annie Winters Mattina. She also had eighteen great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She is survived by four sisters, Anna Thompson, Rita Pelaez, Marie Covacevich and her husband, Jack, Rosalie Galle; her brothers-in-law, Joe Mattina, Jr. and Roy Mattina, Sr.; and her cousins, Mary and Steve Thain, Sr. Mama was our special angel. She will be missed and remembered everyday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 12 noon till service time. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
