Mr. Francis P. "Frank" Cuccias, age 91, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Monday, March 1, 2010. Mr. Cuccias was a native of Queens, New York and a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1941, he served in the U.S. Navy for twenty-six years as a pilot and was a veteran of WWII and Korea before retiring as a Captain. He later retired from Litton Industries in Pascagoula, MS. He was the spiritual leader for his entire family and a devout longtime member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was also an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Gulf Hills Country Club and Sunkist Country Club. Mr. Cuccias is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty -seven years, Mary Elizabeth Cuccias and granddaughter Heather Elizabeth Cuccias. He is survived by his devoted second wife, Jean Sinkhorn Cuccias, daughters, Joan Patton, Karen (Steve) Schneider, sons, Bob (Rosalie) Cuccias, Kevin (Deborah) Cuccias, Brian (Helen) Cuccias, brother, Leo Cuccias, nineteen adoring grandchildren and fourteen adoring great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, March 6, 2010, the funeral service will be a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, MS. Interment will be on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
