Frank L. Anderson, age 79, of Ocean Springs passed away March 13, 2017. Frank was born on January 7, 1938 in Gulfport to F.L. and Edith Anderson. He was the oldest of 5 children. Frank made the coast his home except for nine years in New Orleans.
He was a member of First Baptist Church Biloxi where he faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, member of various committees, and sang in the choir. Frank loved serving his Lord.
He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Robert L. Wilson during the Lebanon Crisis. He then spent twenty-two years in management with major grocery chains. He later traveled as a sales representative and was the owner of Edgewater Bay Pro Shop.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joan Carr Anderson, 2 daughters, Karen A. Townsend (Otha), Edie A. Buchanan (Tony), 3 grandchildren, Kristen Young (Jeremiah), Alyssa Hill (Stephen), and Josh Buchanan (Alex), 2 great-granddaughters, Kamdyn and Evie Young, and siblings Ronald Wayne Anderson, Daniel H. Anderson (Glenda), Janice A. Hathcock (Mark), and many nephews and nieces. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Claude Gilbert Anderson.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church Biloxi on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Biloxi National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with honors by the U.S. Navy.
The family will receive friends at the church at 12:00 p.m. after the committal.
