Frank E. Kopszywa, Jr.

Mr. Frank E. Kopszywa, Jr., age 72, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, October 26, 2006, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Kopszywa was born and raised in Biloxi and had been a resident of Ocean Springs for over 25 years. He was a 1952 graduate of Biloxi High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball and entered into the United States Coast Guard in 1953. He served in the USCG and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Four in 1981. After retiring, he bought a shrimp boat "Mr. Phil" and enjoyed shrimping for many years. He became a member of and enjoyed golfing at Gulf Hills several times a week until his health would not allow him to do so. Mr. Frank will be missed by all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank E. Kopszywa, Sr., mother, Carrie Breal Kopszywa, and brother, John Kopszywa. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Martha Williams Kopszywa of Ocean Springs, MS., daughters, Anna Marie (Harry) Lohr of Asan, Guam, and Kathy Lorraine (Keith) Cassidy of Vancleave, MS., sons, Frank E. Kopszywa III of Woolmarket, MS., and Gary L. Kopszywa of Vancleave, MS., granddaughters, Kelly Ann Kenniff, Lilah Moran, Crystal Moran, Alyse Kopszywa, and Angela Kopszywa, grandsons, Jeffrey Kopszywa, Ryan Kenniff, Damien Skrmetta, Robert Cassidy, and Byron K. Cassidy, Jr. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, from 10 AM - 1 PM, with a 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery with full USCG honors. Pallbearers will be Frank Kopszywa III, Gary Kopszywa, Keith Cassidy, Harry Lohr, Byron Cassidy and Ryan Kenniff. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
