Mr. Frank George Hilt, age 91, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Sunday, August 23, 2009, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Hilt was a native of Linton, North Dakota, a resident of the coast since 1968, and was a retired tool and dye maker with the M.H. Graham Corporation in Biloxi, MS. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a veteran of WWII, serving in China, Bermuda and India. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, was an active 3rd and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a former scout master and a member of the Magnolia Square Dancers Club. Mr. Hilt was also an active member of the choir at church and served as an usher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martina Hilt, five brothers, Jake, Aloysius, Leo, Julius and Peter, and three sisters, Mary Traxinger, Victoria Ainley and Bernadine Arrigo.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann M. Hilt, two sons, Paul (Ann) Hilt of Austin, TX., and Neal (Torri) Hilt of Hattiesburg, MS., two sisters, Marge Weisbeck of Herreid, South Dakota and Cecelia Butts of Hermiston, Oregon, two grandchildren, Sarah Rodriguez and Jonathan Hilt, two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Madelynn Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 28, 2009, from 10 AM - 11 AM, with an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
