Mr. Frank Edward Yashtinsky, 67, of North Biloxi, formerly of D'Iberville, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 13, 2006, after four weeks at the Biloxi V A Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1939 in Boston, MA. Mr. Yashtinsky attended St. Joseph's Grammar School in Boston, MA and graduated from Technical High in 1956. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force where he served as a Radar Technician and in other techinal positions for 20 years before retiring in 1976 as a Tech Sergeant. During his tour of duty he served stateside, Tulie Greenland, Upper Heyford and Bentwaters, England, where he met and married his wife of 46 years, Patricia Walsh Yashtinsky. Mr. Yashtinsky chose D'Iberville, MS as his home after retiring from the military. Upon retiring from the military he was employed at Ingall's Shipbuilding, Raytheon and finally with Navy Supships where he worked in the Engineering & Planning Dept. with the Combat Systems Division. Mr. Yashtinsky then retired a second time. Throughout his careers he served in various technical and engineering positions receiving numerous commendations, awards, training and certifications, thus attesting to his love for knowledge. Frank was of the Catholic faith and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member and past president of the North Biloxi Moose Lodge. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, pa pa and friend. He loved life and always had a sense of humor no matter what circumstances were brought his way. Mr. Yashtinsky was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Yashtinsky and Josephine Zalis Yashtinsky, and a sister, Alice Yashtinsky. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Walsh Yashtinsky, of N. Biloxi; one daughter, Caroline Yashtinsky Mitchem, of N. Biloxi; one son, Kevin Yashtinsky, and daughter-in-love, Glennda Yashtinsky, of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren, Amanda Yashtinsky, of Ocean Springs, Doyce Holley, Jr., of Gainesville, FL; Kyle Mitchem and Kody Mitchem of N. Biloxi; a sister, Helena Linscott and her husband, Colby, of Hingham, MA; two sisters-in-law, Rosaleen Power and her husband, Tom, and Margaret Ennis and her husband, Peter; his brother-in-law, Tom Walsh, all of Ireland; numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends. Visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2006, from 6 until 8 p.m with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A visitation will be held Monday at the funeral home chapel from 8:30 until 9:45 a.m. when a procession will leave the funeral home for Graveside services at 10 a.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
