Fred Schwed

Mr. Fred Schwed, age 85, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, December 15, 2005, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Schwed was a resident of the community for 51 years. He was a leather worker and furniture maker, a mason, an Eastern Star member, and a retired veteran in the U.S. Air Force for 31 years. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Frances Hess and Alice Byrd, parents, Fred and Lena Schwed, and a sister, Gladys Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dora Schwed of Ocean Springs, a daughter, Nancy Bixby of Whidbey Island, WA., son, John Schwed of Ogden, Utah, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. On Tuesday, December 20, 2005, there will be a 12:30 PM chapel service at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
