Gary Anthony Fountain

Mr. Gary Fountain, 66, of D'Iberville, MS died Thursday, August 9, 2007, in Defuniak Springs, FL. Mr. Fountain was born in Biloxi. He was a lifelong resident of St. Martin and a graduate of St. Martin High School. He lived in D'iberville before he moved to Defuniak Springs, FL after Hurricane Katrina. Gary had worked on Great Lakes ore ships, in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico oil industry as a mate on off-shore supply boats. He was a two term Jackson County Constable in District Four and the security guard at the D'Iberville boat launch ramps and piers. Gary loved to fish and was well known for the cast nets he made and sold. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Ida Fountain and a sister, Mary Frances Johnson. Survivors include his son, Justin, of DeFuniak Springs, FL; two brothers, John Fountain, Jr., of Ocean Springs and Kenneth Fountain of St. Martin; two step-sons, Trey Sommerville of Gulfport and Trent Sommerville of Destin, FL; and two step-daughters, Tia Sommerville of New Orleans and Tiffany Fayard of Biloxi. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Fountain Cemetery in D'Iberville.
