Gary Francis Gollott

Mr. Gary F. Gollott, Sr., died Monday, November 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84. Born November 12, 1932 to the late Houston and Ida Gollott, Gary was raised in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he attended Notre Dame Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He married the late Rosemary Rudolf Gollott in 1953 and had seven beautiful children. He was proud to be from Biloxi where he lived on The Point until moving to Ocean Springs. He ran the family business, Gollott & Sons Transfer with his two brothers, Tommy and Tyrone, before retiring in 2005. His retired days were spent visiting family, friends, and old classmates all around the Gulf Coast area. He enjoyed going to the movies, using his “comps” to eat at the casinos, eating at the Slavonian Lodge with his friends, Wednesdays with the “lunch bunch” at The Palace Casino, and his Biloxi Business Men’s Club Meetings on Thursdays. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whenever he could and never met a stranger. Gary was a devout Catholic and attended Mass at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church each week, and also a member of The Knights of Columbus. His motto in life was to work hard for everything, never give up, and you will be rewarded. He never gave up on that motto and inspired many others to do the same. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his late wife, Rosemary, and daughter, Charmaine. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Mitchell Gollott; his son, Gary Gollott, Jr. (Wanda); his daughters, Margaret Anne Snodgrass (Mark), Elizabeth Gollott, Barbara Duhon (Kerby), Regina Peloquin-Cortner (Robert), and Laura Tapp (Edward); step- daughter, Tammy Harrison (Robbie), and step-son Jonathan Toche (Stephanie); his brothers, Tommy Gollott (Zelma), and Tyrone Gollott (Margaret); grandchildren, Mark Snodgrass, Jr. (Courtney), Christopher Snodgrass, Shawna Reich (Jason), Gary (Beau) Gollott, III, Nicole Tisdale (Jim), Rachel Beaugez, Jaimie Duhon, Lindsey Gazzo (Thomas), Kerby Duhon III (Jaclyn), Sonny Spiriti, Joshua Cortner, Conner Peloquin, Cailin Peloquin, Ashlyn Tapp, Aeryn Tapp, Aubrey Tapp, Brittany Toche and Bethany Toche; great-grandchildren, Jackson Snodgrass, Cash Snodgrass, Addison Snodgrass, Thomas Graham, Magara Graham, Sophia Tisdale, Garrett Miller, Lyndon Duhon, Andrew Gazzo, Kerby Duhon IV, Nicholas Spiriti, and Avery Spiriti; numerous other relatives and friends.
