Gary R. Fahnestock, age 58, of Saucier, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 in Jefferson, LA. He was born in Carlisle, PA and had been a resident of Saucier for two years having moved from Poplarville where he resided for five years. He was Baptist. He was a retired plumber and previously served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Fahnestock was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice Fahnestock; two brothers, James and Charles Fahnestock; and a granddaughter, Katlin Fahnestock.
He is survived by three daughters, Teresa Hankins of Carlisle, PA, Amy Anderson, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA; and Angela Fahnestock-Delius of Saucier; a son, Tim Fahnestock of Mechanicsburg, PA; four sisters, Evelyn Whitzel of Carlisle, PA, Nancy Larson of Newville, PA, Martha Fahnestock of Mechanicsburg, PA, Connie Moffitt of Raystown, PA; two brothers, Raymond Fahnestock of Gardners, PA and Ken Fahnestock of Newville, PA; and four grandchildren, Deven Robbins, Lathan Anderson, Madison Hankins, and Kay Fahnestock.
The funeral service will be Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. until the service. Interment will be in Springville Cemetery in Bolling Springs, PA with military honors.
