Geneva W. Schneider (81) of Biloxi, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 in Biloxi. She was one of twin daughters born to Henry Oscar Wilson and Jessie Crenshaw Wilson in Pendleton, South Carolina on July 27, 1923.
Mrs. Schneider spent many wonderful years growing up with her parents, eight brothers and sisters and many, many friends in South Carolina. She moved to Washington, D.C. with her twin sister at the age of 18 to work for the Telephone Company where they both met their husbands who were in the Air Force and stationed at the Pentagon. Mrs. Schneider was the wife of the late Arthur Schneider who was retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service. She traveled to many locations as a military wife, lovingly raising two daughters and eventually retiring with her husband in Biloxi after 30 years of service with the telephone company. Mrs. Schneider was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her daughters will forever be thankful for her life by example. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a Baptist.
She is reunited by death with her husband, Arthur Schneider; parents, Henry Oscar Wilson and Jessie Crenshaw Wilson; her twin sister Jeanette Webber; sisters, Ruth Gantt, Pauline Lewis, Katherine Miles; brothers, Jack Wilson, James Wilson, and Holbert Wilson.
Her survivors include her daughters, Donna (John) Erickson of Biloxi, Connie (Bob) Gray of Pearland, Texas; sister, Elsie Alford of Enterprise, Alabama; three grandchildren whom she adored, John (Lucy) Erickson, Jr., Scott Erickson and Jeana Erickson; all three whom affectionately called her Gammy, and a host of neices and nephews.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. with services following at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home at 2511 Pass Road in Biloxi. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
