George Alfred "Chip" Place,

George A. “Chip” Place, Jr. 54, of St. Martin, MS died Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Ocean Springs. Chip was a native of New Hampshire and a resident of the Gulf Coast for the past ten years. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and he was employed with Auto Zone. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Barbara Place; his daughter, Jennifer Johnson (David); his son, Eric Place (Lilly); his mother, Rosemarie Place; his brothers, Terry (Linda) Place, Sr. and Thomas (Debbie) Place; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 7234 Gorenflo Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532 in the name of Barbara Place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Thursday, September 21, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. where friends may visit one hour prior to service. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
