George Andrew Cook, 66, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
George was a lifelong native of Gretna, LA before moving to Mississippi and continuing his career as an Executive Pastry Chef for Casino Magic and Imperial Palace Casinos. Prior to moving to Biloxi, George owned Cook’s Bakery; worked for the Hilton River Walk Hotel and Maurice’s Bakery in New Orleans. An expert craftsman at his trade for over 40 years, he continuously shared the love of his work by creating something beautiful for the special moments of others.
His survivors include his sons, George Andrew Cook, Jr. (“Andy”) and Chad Michael Cook; grandchildren, Kimberly and Dominic Cook; brother, Harry; sister, Laura Cook Richard; nephews, Steve and Brian Cook; and niece, Jennifer Cook Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to be made to The Children's Medical Center.
Services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit 9:00AM until service time. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
