George “G.O.” Otho Fain, age 93, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.
George was born on June 20, 1929 to Otho M. Fain and Mary O. Fain in Trumann, AR. He was a high school graduate and later joined the USAF where he worked with electronics and ground radios. After 20 years of service, he retired from the USAF as a Master Sgt. with an honorable-discharge. George became employed with US Naval Home and Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was an elder at O.S. Church of Christ for 22 years. His hobbies included singing and attending church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Mary Fain; his siblings, Jim Fain, Harold Fain, and Gayle Wregglesworth; and his son-in-law, Chuck Werneth.
He is survived by his spouse, Lou Etta Fain; children, David (Kathy) Fain, Judy (Paul) Rydeen, Allan (Robin) Fain, and Patti Werneth; grandchildren, Mandy, Robert, Taylor (Ashlee), Chris, Laura, Leanna, Luke, Rebecca, and Charlie (Jen); and great grandchildren, Killian Rydeen and Ethan Werneth.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may begin visiting at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Spring, MS.
